What is a Codex skin?
A Codex skin is a background image plus color and panel settings. Codex cannot import the ZIP by itself, so these themes use the separate Dream Skin tool.
Is Dream Skin an OpenAI product?
No. Dream Skin is an independent open source project. Codex Skin Lab is also independent and is not run by OpenAI.
Do theme ZIPs contain executable code?
The ZIP files downloaded from this site contain artwork, settings, instructions, and license information. They do not contain an installer or executable program.
Does the builder upload my image?
No. The browser reads your image to create the preview and ZIP on this device.
Can I restore the stock appearance?
Yes. Use the Dream Skin restore command to close the themed session and reopen Codex with its normal appearance.
What should I do after a Codex update?
Restore the normal appearance first. Then check the current Dream Skin instructions, update or reinstall it if needed, and test the theme again.
